So after almost two years at my current job, I was becoming pretty bored with the work and the hour drive there, and sometimes two hour drive home. It was time for a change.
I have accepted a position with a different automotive supplier, with a pay jump, a better commute and a car allowance. Now that I'm making more its time to do what any respectable Oppo would do: plan out what car parts you decide to buy.
Below is my Wishlist.
Tell me what you think

Congrats on the new job. As a celebratory victory lap I suggest adding one more thing to your wish list. Tires. Do celebratory but outs and then buy new tires

Congrats!
Those wheels look nice, how about Grand Nat'll style ones? Also, good plan to get rid of the current ones. They remind me too much of the S-10.

is a 1988 LS front clip on there? A 1988 LS front clip should be on there.

First: No. Gross.
Second: LS ran from 1986-1988 with no changes.

Only one part is really necessary. Ok, maybe one other part too.

HAHA you're the first person EVER to get that they were S-10 wheels and not SS wheels in the 10 years I have restored this car.
Here are the factory Wheels for 85 (in 86 they went to aluminum wheels, I have set that need to be refinished)
Main difference is the S-10 wheels cover the lugs, where as these use black conical wheel nuts. Also the Chevrolet logo is a block letter version on the center cap.

Haha! I plan on putting a t-56 behind the 383 eventually. LS swap with all the accessories and fuel injection is a lot of work and even more money.

An oil cooler and the TVS will be the best two upgrades for your MCSS. Remember. In most cases, upgrade handling, then power, then looks.

Yeah, but I have a feeling that the 355 in it now is on its last legs.... soooo

But you could have a 650HP Ferrari smashing Monte Carlo. You can finally show that trust fund asshole who tailgates me on the way to work every morning who's boss!

Fair enough. Besides, 383s are epic.

Well, If I'm going to build a car to beat up on a Ferrari, its going to be the La Ferrari, and I'll do it with a twin turbo 2000+ hp LSX and custom tube chassis. Currently funding will not allow that.
At least this 383 will beat up on 360's and 430's in a straight line.

I mean I'd rather build a high revving solid lifter 302, but this is a street car.

Sweet Monte Carlo, I want to do a Mad Max V8 Interceptor homage Monte Carlo, I know in the movie it's a Ford Falcon GT, but getting one stateside is a costly affair. I think a Monte with bits from the Interceptor modded onto it (like the headlight covers, air dam, spoilers) would look badass.

Congrats!
As for parts, go rust repair and brakes. Stopping the car is important, and having a physical car to stop is also important.

It'd be fairly inexpensive to do with the prices of Monte Carlos still very reasonable, it'd probably be possible to get it to look reminiscent of the Interceptor and give it the movie Interceptors 600 hp (obviously the movie prop was stock but in the film the mechanic said 600 hp) for around the cost of a mechanically stock Falcon interceptor replica here in the States.

you could have a 600 hp blown monte for less than 20g's here.

Hahaha. Well, that's the beauty of building your own you can make it look however you want, however ugly that may be.

for a conversion to wrong wheel drive? i don't think that a starion gearbox would deal with a 3400lb car very well either.

A G-body would probably make a decent drift car with a few modifications. Though, If i was going to make Hoonmobile for Drifting, I'd pick an 86 IROC and do a turbo LS motor to motive the rear tires into plumes of smoke.
